On the eve of International Women’s Day, we attended a concert organized by the Moscow Government, called “Moscow. Spring Attraction.” Moscow authorities have invited women from the capital‘s business, political and public circles to a festive event.
It was opened by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, who stressed that 40% of Moscow’s entrepreneurs are women.
During the event, numerous women were awarded, including teachers, doctors, engineers, artists.
What is true for Moscow generally applies to all of Russia: women constitute 53% of the working population in the country, they are in leadership positions in 91% of Russian companies, and in 18% of firms occupy top positions.
