At the invitation of Mr. Yves Rossier, the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Russian Federation, we attended the grand opening of a new building of the Swiss Embassy in Moscow, which occurred on June 16, 2019.
Thanks to reconstruction and construction of the new building in the territory of the complex, it became possible to place all departments of the diplomatic mission, including consular and visa offices as well as the offices of the Swiss Business Hub, Switzerland Tourism Swiss National Tourism Corporation, and Pro Helvetia Swiss Arts Council, in addition to the ambassador’s residence.
The opening ceremony was held by Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ignazio Cassis, the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, and Yves Rossier, the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Russian Federation.
Prominent political figures, businessmen, musicians, actors, and writers were among the guests of the event. Igor Butman, a famous saxophonist, played during the concert that followed the opening ceremony.
