We remind you that in March 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a 15% tax on income in the form of dividends and interest, which are transferred to accounts abroad. It was noted that the decision made would make it possible to adjust agreements with other states on the avoidance of double taxation.
Similar changes have already affected Cyprus, Malta and Luxembourg, with which tax treaties have been revised.
On May 11 this year, at its plenary meeting, the State Duma unanimously adopted a draft on denunciation of the agreement between Russia and the Netherlands on the avoidance of double taxation, as well as on the prevention of tax evasion with respect to taxes on income and property.
